Moving home made clear

Whether you are buying or selling your house, you need to know that all of the legal formalities will be looked after by experienced solicitors. At Newbys, you will be able to meet and speak to your solicitor when you need to. And when you are moving home, that access can make all the difference.

Selling your house

Moving home is one of the most stressful things that we do in our lives. We can help make the legal process less stressful. All of our conveyancing work is undertaken by experienced solicitors rather than unqualified staff. All have a great deal of experience of buying and selling houses and are very familiar with the types of problems that can arise. We can handle the whole process for you including preparing the contracts and proof of title that we can submit to your buyers’ solicitors. We can answer any questions that they might have, exchange contracts and deal with all financial transfers to make sure that the transfer is concluded as swiftly and painlessly as possible.

Buying your house

Moving home is one of the most stressful things that we do in our lives. We can help make the legal process less stressful. All of our conveyancing work is undertaken by experienced solicitors rather than unqualified staff. All have a great deal of experience if buying and selling houses and are very familiar with the types of problems that can arise. We can advise you on the appropriate type of survey and help you with the carrying out of any preliminary works in order to satisfy the mortgage offer. We can check that the contract is in order and that the seller owns the property and that there are no hidden matters that will cause you concern. We can ensure that you know everything about the property that you need to know. We will then arrange for you to sign contracts and deal with all financial matters to ensure that your mortgage monies are received and that the matter is ready to complete when you are ready to move.

Why Newbys?

Whether you are buying or selling a house the transaction will be looked after by an experienced Solicitor who you will be able to speak to by telephone and meet with when you require.

How long will it take?

There is no general rule because a lot depends on whether you are both buying and selling a house, whether you require a mortgage and whether there is a chain involved. Between 8 and 12 weeks is a reasonable general rule.

How much will it cost?

Our charges are based on a variety of different factors including the value of the property, the type of property and generally the complexity of the matter. Once you are able to provide us with this information then we will always give you a quotation so that you will know in advance exactly how much we charge for either buying or selling your house. Please see the pdf below on our costs transparency statement for residential conveyancing.
